Following participation in this panel session, attendees will be able to: 

  • Describe at least three ways artificial intelligence (AI) has influenced the communication access, efficiency, or independence of individuals who use AAC, as reported through lived experience. 
  • Explain how AI-driven AAC features (e.g., prediction, personalization, vision-based supports) affect user autonomy, participation, and satisfaction across everyday communication contexts. 
  • Identify two key insights shared by AAC users that will inform clinical decision-making, including feature selection, goal development, and ongoing AAC support for diverse client populations.
