Christine Wright-Ott, 麻豆社鈥檚 Occupational Therapist, will be sharing the success of our students involved in the Bridge School Walker Program at the 34th International Seating Symposium in Vancouver, British Columbia, March 6 鈥� 9, 2018.听 Her session, 鈥榃alking to Learn: The Power of Support Walker Mobility!鈥� highlights the benefits of integrating independent mobility into our educational curriculum.听 The abstract of her presentation follows:
This presentation will describe the Bridge School Walker Program from 2006 to 2015 in which 29 students (3 to 12 years) with physical disabilities experienced self-initiated mobility using hands 鈥� free support walkers. The feature driven approach for walker selection, adaptations, tips for success and videos of student progress will be shared.听
